My intention for this project was to subvert the expectations of a standard point-and-clic game by introducing a new mechanic that dissolves the player's understanding of online play. I designed a game that plays like a cooking simulator, in which the player picks the ingredients for a sandwich, and then is presented to them in the end to be eaten. The game ends there and they are prompted to play again. From there, I designed a mechanic in which the next play-through is exactly the same, but they are accosted by a new character and attacked for trying to eat more than one sandwich. The game progresses, and throughout multiple playthroughs of the same basic story, the new character becomes more and more agitated and eventually reveals themself to the player and poisons their sandwich. This results in a final interaction with the character in which there are three possible endings, but all of which end in a slightly altered version of the game that they can play infinitely without any interruptions.
This concept was developed with the hope of challenging and playing off of the concept of the "start over" button in games, allowing that button to become a feature in the breadth of an entire story that spans over multiple playthroughs.
