For this assignment, my goal was to seamlessly integrate an animation into the physical world of the recorded element. In this case, this was accomplished by superimposing a fake steam effect to the mirror of the bathroom, which allowed me to create an animation that could exist within the physical space. From that concept, I created a narrative that would revolve around the mirror and the animation in a way in which the animation and the real world aspect were both vital to the story. This came in the form of a love story between two individuals that have unspoken feelings for each other. They show these feelings by leaving handprints on the mirror in the bathroom, in which their handprints transform into their own characters that act out the story of finding each other and doing what the two human characters have not. The animation ends with the two characters embracing each other and slowly transforming back into the original handprints, but this time the prints are overlapping, inspiring one of the humans to go off and express his feelings.
This combination of elements in the form of a mixed media video allows the viewer to explore the hidden story about the emotions of the characters by revealing details about the story in a new way, keeping the real life action subtle and believable, while letting the animation aspect work to the best of its ability. The music finalizes the story aspect by giving the viewer a familiar tune that would add to the themes of the video
